DJ Gears Conrner

Denon put out another great invention recently surprised the DJ industry with DN-HS5500! Why I made that statement? The best function that hit me was the DN-HS5500 is the 1st CDJ that has a Mirror Mix function, for beat juggling etc, and a Flip to Change Side Button which means, you have TWO CDJ built in ONE unit. Yeah, that’s right, that’s Crazy! (Serato Kind software compatible MIDI input)

Live Demo and Overview 2

I saw lots of nickname ‘DJxxxx” on Youtube still dissing Denon’s quality, and saying Pioneer will beat any brand any time. No offense, but to me, these people are fooled by the market trend, fooled by their friends who’s a “DJ”….. Try it out yourself before you make claims. Pioneer is the true pioneer of CDJs, DVJs, no questions, but Denon put out the 1st CDJ with Direct Motor, feel and work Exactly like Vinyl, that is the ultimate dream come true kind of stuff. Before Serato came out, what was your purpose of switching to CDJ? Convenience, you don’t want to career tons of records to party or gigs anymore. Or, bedroom newbie DJs follow whoever’s recommendation (could be store salesman, ha ha) to start with CDJ.

Anyway, real life example, my friend spent $3500 for 2 CDJ 800 when it came out, fresh and hot in the market, 1st in the history, massive platter for scratching purpose. Awesome! 2 years down the track, he another hundreds to get it serviced, numbers of error and hardware faults, stopped and showed ERROR can not read or eject disc 3 times during the busiest hours in the club, the rest is history…… I owned a Denon 3500, using it for party every weekend, flawless. Scratch function works just like vinyl, Pioneer CDJ 1000, 800 has delay and platter Won’t Move, not to mention all the built in effects (that No matter which MARK Model-1, 2, 3 etc.) Pioneer never had. If you want to see a detail scratch function comparison of Denon 3500/Pioneer CDJ 1000/Technics CDJxxx, have a search on Youtube (sorry I don’t have enough time to check through every page, but I have seen it.)

The point I am trying to make here is, go try out every model before you spend your money, this is a huge investment, you want it to help your career (if you are dedicated), you want it to last long, you want the value last when you decide to upgrade (mind you technology change everyday!) your gears, you can still sell your old decks for good money. Do research, check out demo videos, forums…. Don’t just listen to salesman or people around you (e.g other Bedroom DJs, spent money on gears, but play 1 hour/week) unless they are pros, experienced club DJs, DMC champs! I am not hating on bedroom DJs, believe me, you don’t want to spend $3000 to buy a pair of junk that last for 6 months. Make your choice wisely that what I am trying to say in this post today.

Damn, this got me feeling all angry and shit….lol. 2 words – Stay Humble!

Everybody is a DJ nowadays, Serato, M-Audio Torq ease the process and let you DJ with Eyes instead of Ears! Technology, how great is that??? True DJs are getting ripped off, because newbies can do it for dirt cheap, I do know someone like that and keep complaining sick of too much work. And people who can only use Serato to match the waveform but not knowing how to mix or scratch think they are superstars DJs…. Ha ha …. It suppose to be convenient tool man…

I don’t understand Japanese, but this Complete Demo is pretty cool, you can see how everything works

I will upgrade to 5500 as soon as I sell my 3500 :D Can’t wait to test it out.

Big ups to all the true DJs out there!!!
